Message to Matthews Korea Fund Shareholders

We are pleased to announce that Elli Lee has been named Co-Lead Manager of the Matthews Korea Fund, in recognition of her long-standing contributions to the Fund.  Elli joins Michael Oh, CFA as Co-Lead Managers of the Fund.

Elli has extensive experience as a Co-Manager on the Matthews Korea Fund and has worked closely with Michael since joining the firm as an Analyst in April of 2016. Her contributions have included conducting company research, supporting portfolio risk management, and discussing and debating the overall structure and position sizes implemented in the portfolio. With an in-depth knowledge of the Fund, she has a strong understanding of the companies in the portfolio.

We are also pleased to announce that Sojung Park has been named a Co-Manager of the Matthews Korea Fund in recognition of her contributions to the Fund’s research process and portfolio construction discussions. Sojung has worked closely with Michael and Elli, and supported the Fund since joining the firm in 2016. All other aspects of the Matthews Korea Fund remain unchanged, including the investment process.
