Investment Objective
Long-term capital appreciation. The Fund also seeks to provide some current income.
Strategy
Under normal market conditions, the Fund invests
at least 80% of its total net assets in dividend-paying equity securities
and the convertible securities, of any duration or quality, of companies
located in Asia, which includes China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia,
Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri
Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Distributions
The Matthews Asian Growth and Income Fund intends to distribute its dividends semi-annually. Year end 2009 distributions were paid on December 9, 2009 to shareholders of record as of December 8, 2009. Year end distributions are now available.
